Guitar Lessons

About the Studio: Students will learn standard musical repertoire and playing techniques through a series of materials focusing on each individual student’s playing style, level, and interest. Students will also begin to grasp basic musical theory, ear training, sight-reading, and improvisational concepts. Studio recitals are offered once a semester as a great opportunity to exhibit performance skills.

Tuition & Fees:
$100/month for 30-minute weekly lesson

$145/month for 20/20/20 partner lesson

$165/month for 45-minute weekly lesson

$220/month for 60-minute weekly lesson

Optional: An additional 20-minute lab period is included with each lesson. For example, if you register for a 30-minute lesson, you will actually be in the studio for 50 minutes.

Payment is due in monthly installments on or before the 10th of each month. If you will not be at your lesson the first week of the month, a check must be mailed to the address listed above. A fee of $10 will be applied to those who have failed to pay by the due date. Lessons will temporarily be suspended for those who have not paid the monthly tuition in full by the 31st. There are no refunds of monthly tuition payments; if a student is absent, please see policy regarding “Rescheduling & Cancellation”. If a student decides to quit lessons, any portion of un-used monthly tuition is non-refundable.

FEES:
Every student is required to pay a non-refundable annual $15 studio fee in August (or within the first month of registration) to cover incidentals.

Accepted methods of payment include checks and/or cash. Please make checks payable to “Lori Taylor”.

Rescheduling & Cancellation: Please contact the teacher as soon as you become aware of a potential scheduling conflict. There are no refunds given for missed lessons. However, certain lessons may be rescheduled.

Students are required to give at least 24-hour advance notice if they are unable to come to their lesson. If proper notice has been given, the lesson may be rescheduled.

If 24-hour advance notice has not been given, the lesson will not be rescheduled and no refund is available.
Rescheduling options:
Students are encouraged to double their lesson time to make up the missed lesson.

Any missed lessons must be made up within 30 calendar days of the missed lesson date. Lab make-ups are dependent upon availability and are not guaranteed.

For example, a student who takes a 30-minute lesson + lab may come for a 60-minute lesson and make up lab depending upon availability.

Excessive absences/make-ups will need to be discussed with the teacher. Please remember the studio reserves a weekly time slot specifically for you. If the teacher needs to cancel a lesson, you will be notified in advance and make-ups for both lesson and lab will be provided.

Books & Materials: Students are often required to purchase specific piano books depending upon age, level, and interest. You may purchase these materials on your own, however students may also purchase books and materials directly from the studio. In order to purchase items through the studio, a purchasing account will be set up. Deposits to this account will be separate from tuition. It is recommended that a minimum balance of $20.00 remain in the account; deposits can be made anytime.

Deposits and books charged to your account will be reflected in your monthly invoice. The books will be delivered directly to the student at his or her lesson. The studio never charges students any extra fees on book and material purchases.

♪Referral bonuses: If you refer a friend or family member to the studio, who signs up for at least one month of lessons, you will automatically receive a $25 discount reflected in your next month’s tuition.♪

Practicing & Rewards: Students will be assigned a weekly practice goal. Students are required to keep track of practice time in their assignment notebooks. At the end of the week, parents must total the number of practice minutes and initial the log. Please be sure theory assignments are completed before coming to class.

Students are expected to bring their assignment notebook, signed practice log, piano music, sheet music, award sheets, etc. to each lesson.

♪Note: If no theory assignments have been completed by the third lesson, that entire lesson will be spent catching up on theory. If students do not complete theory assignments regularly, a portion of lesson time will be devoted to working on theory, to ensure the student’s mastery of this fundamental skill.
